Draft — not yet cleared for use. This drill is designed as deliberate practice and is still in review; treat it as practice, not a graded or certified activity.
Spot the Over-Prompt
Designed as deliberate practice in a recognition skill that hides in plain sight: which adult moves hand the work back to the student, and which quietly teach the student to wait for an adult? Read each moment and make the call.
The categories
- Hands work back — Support that transfers the task to the student: wait time, a lighter prompt than last time, letting the task's own cue do the talking, stepping back as skill grows.
- Keeps the adult in the loop — Support that inserts the adult where the task or the student could carry it: pre-empting, prompting before the student can try, staying when the data says step back.
