Draft — not yet cleared for use. This drill is designed as deliberate practice and is still in review; treat it as practice, not a graded or certified activity.

What's Getting Reinforced?

Behind every behavior plan is one call: after what you just did, which behavior gets stronger — the one you're trying to build, or the challenging one? Designed as deliberate practice in making that call. Read the moment, decide, see the why.

The categories

  • The behavior you wantThe reward (attention, a break, a token, the item) followed the behavior the plan is trying to build — so that's what gets stronger.
  • The problem behaviorThe reward followed the challenging behavior itself — the behavior just got whatever it was after (attention, escape, the item) — so that behavior gets stronger, however unintentionally.
